President-elect Donald Trump delivered a powerful speech in Washington, D.C., outlining his plans to strengthen America’s security and revive its economic strength. A key highlight of his address was the promise to construct a U.S.-based missile defense system modeled after Israel’s famed “Iron Dome.” Trump emphasized that the system. would be fully manufactured within the United States, aiming not only to enhance national security but also to create thousands of jobs in the defense sector.
The Iron Dome is a state-of-the-art missile defense system originally developed by Israel to intercept short-range rockets and artillery. Renowned for its precision, the Iron Dome has proven highly effective in neutralizing incoming threats in densely populated areas. However, adapting such a system for the U.S., which spans a much larger geographic area, presents significant challenges. Experts suggest that scaling the technology to protect the entirety of the United States would require substantial technological advancements, financial resources, and an expansion of defense infrastructure.
